David "Chris" Christopher Reed

David “Chris” Christopher Reed, 68 of Odessa, Missouri, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Family hosted committal service will be held at 11am, Monday, October 30, 2023, at Higginsville Veteran Cemetery 20109 Bus, MO-13, Higginsville, MO 64037. Memorials are suggested to the family in the care of Maria R. Reed. Chris was born November 26, 1954, in Odessa, Missouri to David Lawrence Reed and Ida Mae (Browning) Reed Anderson. Chris graduated from Odessa High School in 1973. After high school, Chris proudly served in the Air Force for three years as a jet engine mechanic. For 10 plus years, Chris worked for Liquid Soap Products in general maintenance. Chris was united in marriage to Maria “Chayo” Rosario (Llanas) Reed in Saltillo, Mexico on September 16, 1983. He was a member of the American Legion Post 499 of Blue Springs, MO. Along with spending time with family, Chris enjoyed watching various types of sports. His favorite teams were the Kansas Jayhawks, Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals.    

Chris is survived by his wife, Maria “Chayo” Rosario Reed; one child, Dax Christopher Reed of Preston, IA; mother, Ida Mae Reed Anderson; two grandchildren, Taylor Couch and Allissa Bell; one sister Jamie Reed (Joseph) Nettleton; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.  

Chris was preceded in death by his father, David Lawrence Reed.
