David Ray Burkhart, 56, of El Dorado, Kansas passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, KS.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd Street, Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Trotter Cemetery in Carrollton, MO. David was born on October 18, 1965, to Raymond Oliver and Mildred Louise (Shipley) Burkhart in Lexington, MO. After attending Odessa High School, he began working as a Porter then began as a Diesel Mechanic for School Bus Company. David then continued his career with Swift Transportation as a Diesel Mechanic. David started Burkhart Enterprise, Tow Biz, with his son Chris in 2019. On October 24, 1998, David was united in marriage to Rose Marie (Muller) in Collins, MO. In addition to spending time with family and friends, he enjoyed working on tractors, riding motorcycles, farming, and horseback riding. David’s proudest moment was most recent, owning and operating a towing business with his son, Chris.

Burkhart (Steve Harves) of Belton, MO, Joshua M. Muller (Amber) of Windsor, MO, and Kenny L. Harter, Jr. (Angela Anderson0 of El Dorado, KS; 24 grandchildren, JJ (Kelsi) Unrein, Kaenan (Jayda) Burkhart, Carlie Unrein, Anthony Burkhart, Kaleb Burkhart, Aiden Burkhart, Bardly Burkhart, Cheyannee Bohannan, Emily Burkhart, Hallie Wood, Ella Burkhart, Malakye Muller, Hunter Wildeman, Ashton Burkhart, Joshua Wood, Nicholas Wildeman, Aaliyah Muller, Hannah Wood, Jordan Muller, Raelynn Burt, Brynlee Johnson, Hudsen Smith, and Haiden Smith; two sisters, Linda Hardwick (Bob) of Odessa, MO, and Lora Bowman (Steve) of Odessa, MO; two brothers, Ron Burkhart (Linda) of Mayview, MO, and Steve Burkhart of Odessa, MO; a sister in law, Jean Burkhart of Urbana, MO; many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends; and one great grandchild on the way.
