Darlene Joan (Langkraehr) Butler, 88, of Higginsville, MO passed away on October 4, 2020 at Meyer Care Center in Higginsville.
The family will host a private memorial service at a later date. Cremation has been entrusted to Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd Street, Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Bethel United Church of Christ, 710 S Gordon St, Concordia, MO, 64020. Memorials may be left in care of the funeral home. Darlene was born on February 21, 1932 in Concordia, MO to Ervin Fredrick Wilhelm and Adelia (Krause) Langkraehr. In March of 1950 she was united in marriage to Jules E. Butler. He preceded her in death. Darlene was a homemaker and a member of the Bethel United Church of Christ in Concordia. In addition to spending time with family, friends, and adoring her grandchildren & great grandchildren, Darlene enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, and volunteering at her church.
Survivors include one son, Steven Butler and wife, Susan of Raymore, MO; two grandsons, Erik Butler and wife, Megan of Greenwood, MO and Grant Butler and wife, Kathy of Lee’s Summit, MO; two great grandsons, Cole and Will Butler; a great granddaughter, Jules Butler; one brother, Stanley Langkraehr of Concordia, MO; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Darlene was preceded in death by a son, Ben Butler; two brothers, Wesley and Kenneth Langkraehr; and a sister Vivian Mullins.
