Dan Stubblefield led a remarkable life and touched the hearts of many people. He was the most kind, genuine soul and to know him was to love him. His chuckle, smile and fondness for gab will echo in our hearts for eternity.
Dan passed suddenly and peacefully at his home on Friday, November 6, 2020. With his passing, he joins his wife Jan, who he loved deeply. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Cassius; and two siblings Betty and Jack. He is survived by three siblings: Gwen, Lois and Jim; three sons: Shannon, Kale, and Kevin; his daughter-in-law: Carly; six grandchildren: Cameron, Wesley, Dakotah, Mia, Thatcher and Zoë; one great-grandchild: Grady; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Dan was born on August 23, 1942 in Nettleton, Missouri. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1960, attended college in Warrensburg, and completed his degree from Tarkio College. He retired from General Motors as a journeyman electrician, trained and showed Morgan horses with his son Shannon, coached youth sports, served on the Odessa School Board, and eventually started another career as an insurance agent until he retired for good.
Dan loved family, friends, sports, travel, playing cards, cheering for his favorite teams (Chiefs, Royals and Mizzou Tigers) and reading western books. He cherished the time he spent with everyone. He especially loved the time he got to spend with all of his grandchildren. He said it was the thing that made life worth living.
