Dale was born on October 29, 1958, in Odessa, Missouri to John and Mary Jane (Mueller) Ostermeyer.
Dale grew up on a family farm where he learned the true value of labor at a young age. His parents instilled in him the values of hard work, honesty, integrity and dedication. He was a man of his word and a handshake from him meant that you could count on him.
Although Dale attended the Odessa school district, he left his studies early to assist with the family farm. Farming was not just work for Dale; it was a way of life; it was his passion. He carved out a livelihood through farming by growing crops, putting up hay and raising cattle. Dale loved every aspect of being a farmer, but he had a special connection to his cattle, especially the babies (as he called them) that he bottle fed and cared for. He enjoyed watching them get excited about a new bale of hay being rolled out or seeing them perk up when that old familiar tractor came into the field.
Dale was known for his practical joking spirit. Whether it was teasing, playing tricks on unsuspecting family members or telling a funny story, he brought laughter to those closest to him. Dale loved making others smile, and his memory will live on in the laughter he shared.
In 2018, Dale married the love of his life, Becky whom he met during their high school days. Together, they created a home brimming with warmth, love and laughter. They enjoyed entertaining friends and family, traveling and just spending time together. Weekends were spent with their beloved grandchildren, Hunter and Amelia. Dale loved racing four wheelers, going mudding and taking them to feed his cattle. He loved showing them his farm. He took great pride in being Papa Dale.
Dale is survived by his wife, Becky, his stepson Matt and his beloved grandchildren, Hunter and Amelia. 1 sister; Peggy Leidig of Washington, Kansas, 4 brothers, David Ostermeyer (Cecillia) of Bogard, Missouri, Jim Ostermeyer (Karen) of Odessa, Missouri, Larry Ostermeyer (Teresa) of Odessa, Missouri and Brian Ostermeyer (Warrensburg) along with many nieces and nephews.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, a brother-in-law, Lonnie Leidig, who will be remembered alongside him in the hearts of their family. The legacy of hard work and dedication but also one of love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to those he held dear. Dale’s life was a gift, and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
