Clifton “Dale” Murry, 85 of Blue Springs, Missouri formerly of Odessa, MO passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2022, at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Saturday, August 27, 2022, at the First Baptist Church, 100 W. Hwy OO, Odessa, MO, 64076. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, August 27, 2022, at the church. Burial will be in the Bates City Cemetery in Bates City, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association or Lafayette County 4-H Council. Dale was born on December 23, 1936, in Napoleon, MO to Wesley and Elizabeth Pauline (Morris) Murry. Dale’s father passed at an early age, and he was raised by his parents Elizabeth and Aubrey Murry. Dale graduated in 1954 from Odessa High School. He devoted his working career to the printing industry, Dale worked at The Odessan, Little Blue Press, James Printing, and retired after 15 years as the owner of Monte Parker Printing. Dale was a faithful Christian of the First Baptist Church in Odessa. On August 5, 2000, he was united in marriage to Mary Jane (Jones) at the First Baptist Church. Dale was a member of the Independence Lions Club, 4-H, Santa Gertrudis Cattle Association, past officer of the Modern Woodmen of American, and Blue Springs Rotary. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Dale enjoyed gardening, collecting board games, and collie statues.
Dale is survived by his wife, Mary Murry of Blue Springs, MO; his children: Lynn Ray Murry Sr., (Connie) of Higginsville, MO, Suzanne Renee Murry (Greg) of Independence, MO; step children: Ketra Overlander-Leifer (Simeon) of San Jose, CA, Margie Evans of Sugar Creek, MO, Marcia Oxford (Christopher) Elkridge, Maryland, and Allen Offenbacker of Odessa, MO; his grandchildren: Dawn Murry (Jeremy) of Aullville, MO, Jessica Thomeczek (Kevin) of Linn, MO, Lynn Ray Murry, Jr. of Higginsville, MO; step grandchildren: Christopher Holt of Kansas City, MO, and Kayla Burns (Tre) of Independence, MO; and his great-grandchildren: Easton and Everly Thomeczek of Linn, MO; step great-grandchild: Eva Holt of Independence, MO; and many relatives and friends.
In addition to Dale’s parents, he was preceded in death by two stepdaughters: Konda Thomas and Kandi Medlock.
