Cynthia "Cindy" LuAnne (Sparks) Watt

Cynthia “Cindy” LuAnne (Sparks) Watt, 58 of Oak Grove, MO formerly of Odessa, MO passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021, at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2021, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, 100 W. OO Highway, Odessa, MO, 64076. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Odessa Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Project Hope and can be left in care of the funeral home. Cindy was born on March 7, 1963, in Shawnee Mission, Kansas to Charles Kenneth and Shirley May (Roecker) Sparks. She graduated from Odessa High School in 1981. After high school she obtained her LPN license and worked at various health related positions. Most notably a nurse for Crossroads Hospice and as a nurse for the Odessa School District. Cindy was united in marriage to Steven Watt on December 2, 1983, in Odessa, MO. She is a member of the Odessa First Baptist Church. Cindy loved helping others, for many years she and Steve went on many missions for Project Hope. She traveled to Nicaragua 15 times to help with medical and building missions. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Cindy enjoyed gardening and spoiling her grandchildren.

Cindy is survived by her husband Steve Watt of Oak Grove, MO; her mother, Shirley Sparks of Odessa, MO; two daughters, Amanda Hernandez and husband Francisco of Oak Grove, MO and Elizabeth Morris of Durham, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Aiden Morris, Noelia, Noah, and Nessa Hernandez; one sister, Jeanne Sparks of Odessa, MO; four brothers, Charles “Charlie” Kenneth Sparks, Jr. of Odessa, Danny Sparks and wife Happy of Bates City, MO, David Sparks and wife Mary Lou of Blue Springs, MO, and Johnny Sparks and wife Tamara of Odessa; and many nieces and nephews.

Cindy was preceded in death by her father.
