Clyde Ryland Miller, 90 of Odessa, MO passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO.
Visitation will be Friday, February 26, 2021 at 10:30 am followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:30 am at the First Baptist Church, 100 Ste. Hwy OO, Odessa, MO, 64076. Inurnment will follow at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 20109 Business Hwy. 13, Higginsville, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church of Odessa or the Helping Hands of Odessa. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ralph O. Clyde was born on June 12, 1930 in Lexington, Missouri to Ryland T. and Frances M. (Yates) Miller. He married Oza “Sue” Tye on October 4, 1957 at the First Baptist Church of Odessa. Clyde worked at Union Wire and Rope, Bendix Corporation, Lake City Ammunition Plant, and retired from the MO National Guard as a Sergeant First Class after 32 years in 1983. Clyde was a 50-year member of the Mount Hope Masonic Lodge 476, a deacon of the church, and a cattle farmer in rural Odessa. He enjoyed spending time with his family, attending Bible study, golfing and helping others.
Clyde is survived by his wife, Oza “Sue” Miller of Odessa, MO; two children, Angela Phillips and husband Kip of Lee’s Summit, MO, Mark Miller and wife Tammi of Harrisonville, MO, six grandchildren; Lauren Phillips and fiancé Warren Drucker of Olathe, KS, Mason Phillips and wife Jacquelyn of Olathe, KS, Karra, Ryland, Addisen, and Alivia Miller of Harrisonville, MO, two sisters; Kathryn Sallaz and husband Paul of Independence, MO, Sandra Ward of Independence, MO, a sister-in-law, Emma Hobbs of Higginsville, MO, and many nieces and nephews.
Clyde was preceded by his parents, five sisters; Lucy Mudd, Marjorie Moore, Frances Conn, Mildred Miller, Carolyn Davis, and one brother; Edward Miller.
