Clyde Earl Davis

Clyde Earl Davis, 89, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in Odessa.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday November 9, 2015 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. Visitation will be one hour prior from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial with military rites will be in the Greenton Cemetery. Clyde was born on November 29, 1925 in Coweta, Oklahoma to Frank Owen and Mary Harriet (Hoffman) Davis. On July 14, 1946 he married Millie Ann (Mitchell) Davis in Kansas City, Kansas. She preceded him in death in 2004. Clyde was a veteran of the United States Merchant Marines/Navy. He enlisted on May 29, 1944 and was Honorably Discharged on April 15, 1945. He served in World War II and earned the Merchant Marine Emblem, Pacific War Zone Bar and the Combat Bar with Stars. He was a life member of the Higginsville VFW Post 6270. Clyde was a member of the Blue Springs Christin Church. He was a member of the Odessa Boy Scout Troop 120 and served as the Assistant Scout Master for approximately 10 years. Clyde retired from Butler Manufacturing Co. after 41 years as an Electrician. In addition to spending time with his family and friends, he enjoyed fishing, camping being outdoors, traveling and tinkering on his farm.

Survivors include four children, Roland Davis and wife Billye of Mayview, MO, Fred Davis and wife Vicki of Chanute, KS, Ruth Ann Davis of Odessa, MO and Kevin Earl Davis of Odessa, MO; 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild; four brothers, James Davis and wife Maxine of Boonville, MO, Roger Davis and wife Barbara of Sibley, MO, Robert Davis and wife Carol of Sibley, MO and a brother in law, Bill Norris of Independence, MO; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Clyde was preceded in death by a son, William Franklin Davis; two brothers, Charles Davis and Frank O. Davis, Jr.; and two sisters, Irene Norris and Leona Ruth Davis.
