Clifford Leon Hoffman, 84, of Napoleon, Missouri passed away on Monday, March 10, 2014 at the St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 14, 2014 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. Second St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524 with Reverend Russell Huff officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial with Military Rites will be in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Odessa. Memorials are suggested to the Children’s Mercy Oncology Department in memory of Joshua Rider. Condolences for the family may be left on our Facebook page.

Clifford was born on May 16, 1929 in Gifford, MO to Samuel W. and Mary Belle (Helton) Hoffman. Clifford served in the United States Army and is a veteran of the Korean War. On December 12, 1954 he was united in marriage to Romelle Rosalie (Armstrong) Hoffman in Kirksville, MO. Clifford and Romelle are members of the Long Branch Baptist Church in Odessa, MO. Clifford retired in 1987 from Associated Construction. He spent many years in the concrete construction industry. He was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 1329 in Independence, MO for 62 years. He liked being outdoors and was very proud of his yard and John Deere tractors. Clifford loved spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Clifford is survived by two children, Dennis L. Hoffman and wife Donna of Columbia, MO and Debbie R. Rider and husband Donald of Odessa, MO; six grandchildren, Andrea, Ben and Jeanna Hoffman, Tiffany, Taylor and Tabitha Rider; a great granddaughter, Emma Jewel Clemens; a brother Carroll Hoffman and wife Joyce of Odessa, MO; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Clifford was preceded in death by, a grandson, Joshua Dean Rider, three brothers, Willis, Wilbur and Elvin Hoffman; and two sisters, Doris Webb and Marjorie Mattingly.
