Clayton James Crump, 17 of Grain Valley, Mo passed away peacefully on Friday March 23, 2018 at home surrounded by family.
A funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, March 29, 2018 at the First Christian Church, 224 W. Dryden St., Odessa, MO, 64076. A time of fellowship will follow in the fellowship hall at the church. Memorials are suggested to the 10th Player Foundation, www.10thplayerfoundation.org, this organization was started for Clayton and continues to help sponsor other children with cancer that would love to play baseball. Clayton was born on July 12, 2000 in Kansas City, MO to Tera (Renick) Downs. He attended Boonville High School and was most recently attending Sni Valley Academy in Grain Valley, MO. In addition to spending time with his family and friends, Clayton loved the outdoors, playing baseball, skateboarding, archery, hunting and video games.
Clayton is survived by his mother and step-father, Tera and Chris Downs of Grain Valley, MO; brother, Lawson Crump of Boonville, MO; two sisters, Hailey and Emma Downs of Grain Valley, MO; maternal grandfather, James (Terry) Renick of Odessa, MO; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Clayton was preceded in death by his grandmother, Anita Renick and paternal grandfather, Robert “Bob” Crump.
