CLAUDINE HOWELL TRENT Claudine Trent, 85, of Lexington, MO passed away at Golden Living Care Center in Odessa on Wednesday, April 8, 2015. Claudine Howell was born February 9, 1930 in rural Johnson County, MO, the daughter of Claud and Bessie E. Youngs Howell. She married Donald Trent on September 11, 1949. Claudine was a 1947 graduate of Corder High School and attended Central Missouri State College in Warrensburg for two years. She was the Deputy County Collector for several years, working with George B. Gordon the County Collector. She later was the fee agent for the License Bureau from 1971-1974, served as the Lexington City Collector for four years, worked at the Lexington Building and Loan (B & L Bank) for 15 years, retiring in 1995. She served as the bookkeeper for the Lexington Park Board for 25 years. Claudine was a member of the Dover Christian Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher and Director of Vacation Bible School. She was a member of the Lexington Hospital Auxiliary and a member of the Lexington Business & Professional Women for many years, holding several offices. She later joined the Christian Church in Lexington and is currently a member of Presbyterian Disciples Church, Lexington. Claudine (fondly known as Me-Mo by her grandchildren) is survived by children: Deborah Morrison and husband, Bill, Donna Harmon and husband, Gary, and James Paul Trent and wife, Carita. Grandchildren: Nikki Kennedy (Harley), Brooke Trent, Austin Trent and Spencer Trent. A step-grandson, Jason Harmon(Lena) and a grandson by heart, Gabe Spring (Jerren). Great-grandchildren: Skyler, Finnegan and Jasper Kennedy, Indica Smith, great-grandchildren by heart, Taylor and Brody Spring. Claudine was preceded in death by her parents and soul mate, Donald Paul Trent; brothers, Joseph and Virgil and sisters, Mary Frances Chinn and Lillie Dale Henderson. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 13, 2015 at the Presbyterian Disciples Church, 10th and Franklin St., Lexington, MO. Private burial in the Higginsville City Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, April 12 at the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, 1720 South Street, Lexington, MO. Memorials may be made in Claudines memory to the American Association for the Blind.
