Charles “Buck” E. Swope, Jr., 69, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Friday, October 23, 2015 at the University Of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas surrounded by family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524 with Pastor Daniel Goehringer officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will follow. Memorials are suggested to the Lafayette County Cancer Coalition, P.O. Buck was born on October 28, 1945 in Warrensburg, MO to Charles E. Swope, Sr. and Della Amy (Graves) Swope. He graduated from Warrensburg High School. On March 1, 1971 he married Barbara Joan (Woody) Swope in Miami, Oklahoma. Buck worked most of his life for the Title Insurance Industry before retirement. In addition to spending time with his family and friends, he loved traveling to his granddaughter’s games and competitions and being outdoors. Buck was also an avid sports fan.

In addition to his wife Barbara, Buck is survived by a daughter, Marti Swope-Lawson and Steve Lawson of Basehor, KS; two step children, Tammi Shaw-Miller and husband Mark of Harrisonville, MO and Todd Shaw and wife Melissa of Barnhart, MO; nine grandchildren, Lauren Lawson, Karra Miller, Ryland Miller, Addisen Miller, Alivia Miller, Briann Brady, Makenna Shaw, Linsey Shaw and Dani Shaw; two brothers, Bill Swope and wife Patsy of Warrensburg, MO and Don Swope of Rayville, MO; three sisters, Katie Burasco of Independence, MO, Norma Reed of Thayer, KS and Mary Lou Angle and husband Jim of Dallas, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Buck was preceded in death by two sisters, Eva Swope and Peggy Sue Wagoner.
