Charles Kenneth Sparks, Sr.

Charles Kenneth Sparks, Sr., 88 of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Monday, February 15, 2021 at home surrounded by family.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., on Friday, February 19, 2021 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Odessa Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Ascend Hospice. Charles was born on May 22, 1932 in Portsmouth, Ohio to Charles Lee and Una Marie (McNeal) Sparks. He married Shirley Roecker on September 1, 1956 in Kansas City, MO. Charles retired from management in 1986 after 33 years of service from Southwestern Bell. After retiring he owned and operated JisL Enterprises selling satellite dishes. Charles was a member of the Pioneers and the NRA. He attended New Life Assembly of God in Oak Grove, MO. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Charles enjoyed reading westerns, tinkering, target shooting, and playing solitaire.

Charles is survived by his wife, Shirley Sparks of Odessa, MO; six children, Charles “Charlie” Kenneth Sparks, Jr. of Odessa, MO, Danny Sparks and wife Happy of Bates City, MO, David Sparks and wife Mary Lou of Blue Springs, MO, Cindy Watt and husband Steve of Oak Grove, MO, Jeanne Sparks of Odessa, MO and Johnny Sparks and wife Tamara of Odessa, MO; and multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
