Charles Dale Osborn

Charles "Charlie" “Ozzy” Dale Osborn, 62, of Odessa, Missouri passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 9, 2024, in Oak Grove, Missouri. 

A Celebration of Life will take place at 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 18, 2025, at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Long Branch Baptist Church. Charles was born on June 1, 1962, in San Jose, California to Charles Vernon and Nancy Gail (White) Osborn. He graduated from Parkrose High School in Portland, Oregan. Charlie worked in fast food management until 1991 when he began working at Action Products. He worked mainly overseeing the paint room and fiberglass shop for twelve years. He was in machine maintenance at Lake City Army Ammunition Plant for awhile. He worked for Masterpiece Lawn Care which led him to the RV industry. He began working at Nationwide RV fir the Thompson family, which later became Camping World. Ozzy was an RV service technician for Abe Thompson's RV Service Center for nine years. He was well known and even requested by many of their customers over the years. He often joked about being a Jack-of-all-trades. Charles was united in marriage on August 12, 1989, to Laura Jean (Petre) Osborn in Odessa, Missouri. Beyond his profession, Charles was deeply involved in his community. A proud member of the Jaycees in the early 90’s, he also contributed countless hours as a Cub Pack Leader and Scout Master of Troop 286 in Odessa, as well as an Honorary "Hard Way" member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say, inspiring and mentoring young people to reach their full potential. Charles and Laura were Sunday School teachers for the Young Adults group at Long Branch Baptist Church for awhile. Ozzy was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. He loved spending time outdoors, often found fishing, which he had a lifelong passion for, or attending car shows. He enjoyed sharing his fishing knowledge with anyone who was interested, especially his nephews and grandkids. An accomplished woodworker, his craftsmanship showcased his creativity and passion for making things with his hands. He made many things using craft sticks such as a Jeep, biplanes, a replica of his son's 1965 Ford truck, and a baby grand piano for his daughter. Charlie and Laura enjoyed traveling to attend family functions and all of their grandkids sports games, music programs, etc, whenever possible. He always wanted to help others, whether it was to pray for them, lend a hand or buy a meal, and was known to stop to help complete strangers having car troubles. He always said that he felt the Lord laid it on his heart to stop and see what he could do. 

Charles is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Laura Jean Osborn of Odessa, MO; his mother, Nancy Gail Osborn; three children, Dustin Bradley (Kimberly) Osborn of Grain Valley, MO, Amanda Cheyenne (Mathew) Birenbaum of Waynesville, MO, and Brody Ethan (Emily Silvey) Osborn; eight grandchildren, Kameron Birenbaum, Grace Birenbaum, Olivia Birenbaum, Jackson Birenbaum, Joshua Osborn, Harlie Osborn, Eden Silvey, and Adeline Silvey; one sister, Patricia (Kenneth) Drake of Clackamas, OR; two brothers, Robert Osborn of Shoreline, WA and Thomas (Sandra) Osborn of Wesley Chapel, FL; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. 

Charlie was preceded in death by his father, and a son, Kai Alexander Osborn.
