Charles Sidney Cowhick, 81, of Lexington, Missouri, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his family.

 

A visitation will be held Thursday, December 21, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, 1720 South St., Lexington, MO, 64067.  Memorials are suggested to the family in care of Darlene Hollingsworth.  Memories of Charles and condolences for his family may be left at www.LedfordFamilyFH.com or on our Facebook Page.

 

Charles was born on August 6, 1942, in Kansas City, Missouri to Charles and Helen Marie (Powers) Cowhick.  On October 19, 1963, he was united in marriage to Lois Evelyn Miller.  She preceded him in death on February 20, 2015.  After 47 years of service Charles retired from S&K Industries in Lexington.  He was a member and Deacon of the First Baptist Church in Lexington.  Charles attended The Life Church in Lee’s Summit, MO.  Charles was a family man, and enjoyed taking his family camping, going to the lake, boating, and fishing.  He knew no strangers and could always be found helping others.  He is also survived by his beloved Cockapoo, Molly.

 

Charles is survived by five daughters, Mary Beth Hughes (Bryan) of Lexington, Lisa Ann Bartley of Colorado Springs, CO, Brady Sue Fields of Lexington, MO,  Darlene Hollingsworth (Billy) of Lexington, MO, and Lori L. Locke of Lexington, MO; 13 grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Darlene Louise Powers (Cowhick) Deselle; and Rosalie Gibson (George) of Topeka, KS; two brothers, David Lee Cowhick of Butler, MO and Floyd Jackie Cowhick (Grace) of Independence, MO; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

 

In addition to his parents and wife, Charles was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Mitchell Bartley; and two brothers, Kenneth Eugene Cowhick and James Edward Cowhick.
