Jean Brown, 84, of Bates City, Missouri passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2013 at St. Marys Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 5, 2013 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. Second St., Odessa, MO 64076, 816-633-5524, with Bruce Kirk officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral Home. Burial will be in the Greenton Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the family. Condolences for the family may be left at www.ralphojones.com. Jean was born on December 30, 1928 in Lexington, MO to Joshua Newton and Jenny (Morgan) Murry. She was a Homemaker. She enjoyed sewing quilt tops, embroidering, and crocheting. She loved cooking, gardening and traveling to the lake when she was able. She always held the family dinners at her home. She loved her children and grandchildren very much and she will be greatly missed by them. Survivors include twelve children, Wilbur Brown of Bates City, MO, Howard Brown, Jr. and wife Alice of Bates City, MO, Barbara Scott of Eldon, MO, Nita Wilson and husband Walter of Lexington, MO, Everett Brown of Eldon, MO, Vera Currence and husband Joe of Eldon, MO, Cecil Brown and wife Teresa of Bates City, MO, Teresa Viles and husband Gary of Lexington, MO, Walley Brown and wife Melinda of Blue Springs, MO, Richard Brown and wife Rita of Auxvasse, MO, James Brown and wife Melissa of Bates City, MO and Bonnie Viles and husband Glen of Lexington, MO; forty grandchildren, forty nine great grandchildren, thirteen great great grandchildren and twelve great great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Charles (Tony) Brown, a daughter, Nancy Hanna, a grandson, Clifton Leroy Hanna, III, three sisters and five brothers.
