Carrie Mary (Wulfekotter) Brown, 93, of Odessa, Missouri passed away at the St. Mary's Manor in Blue Springs, MO on Tuesday, December 1, 2015.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 6, 2015 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. Visitation will be held one hour prior from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Odessa Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Foster Grandparent Program. Carrie was born on November 13, 1922 in Odessa, MO to Frederick and Caroline (Lieneke) Wulfekotter. She graduated from Odessa High School. On November 14, 1942 she married James William Brown, Jr., in Wellington, MO. She was a member of the St. Luke Evangelical Free Church in Wellington, MO. Carrie was a homemaker most of her life taking care of her family and home. After her children leaving home she started working at the Blue Springs Care Center as a CNA until her retirement at the age of 78. Carrie was also a member of the Foster Grandparent Program and enjoyed spending time working in the classroom with her kids. In addition to spending time with her family and friends she enjoyed gardening, quilting, and embroidering.
Survivors include two daughters, Jamie C. (Brown) Adams of Odessa, MO and Audra A. Brown of Odessa, MO; one granddaughter, Teisha L. Bennett and husband Daniel of Rushville, MO; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Carrie was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy L. Brown; two granddaughters, Terra Lynn Dillie and Stephanie Thompson; three brothers, Herman, Fred and Ernie Wulfekotter and three sisters, Josephine Murry, Ida Murry and Elsie Varner.
