Carolyn Schlapper, 87, of Sunrise Beach, MO; died unexpectedly on December 26, 2015. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 1:30 pm at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, Odessa, MO. Visitation will be held on Thursday also from 12:30 until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO. Memorial may be made to the family.
Carolyn Flora Rodenberg was born on December 10, 1928 at Napoleon, Missouri to Erwin J. (EJ) and Bertha Czechin Rodenberg. She married Paul Schlapper on November 28, 1947 in Napoleon, MO. Carolyn had owned and operated Carolyn’s Creations in Gravois Mills, MO for over 30 years.
Survivors include her children, Janice Johnson and husband Don, Blue Springs, MO; Gail Schlapper, Sunrise Beach, MO; Noraleen Hord and husband, Gary, Jefferson City, MO. There are 12 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Also surviving is a son-in-law, Gary Kohlsteadt, Gladstone, MO; and a brother Delbert Rodenberg and wife, Roberta, Napoleon, MO. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Paul, a daughter, Pauletta Kohlsteadt, a sister, Dorothy M. Fahrmeier and an infant grandchild.
