Carolyn Ann Johnson

Carolyn Ann (Barker) Johnson, 71, of Odessa, Missouri passed away Monday, November 18, 2024, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 20109 Bus. MO-13, Higginsville, MO, 64037. Carolyn was born on June 7, 1953, in Odessa, MO to Buford and Shirley (Rodenberg) Barker. She graduated in 1971 from Odessa High School. On January 31, 1972, Carolyn was united in marriage to Jerry C. Johnson in Miami, Oklahoma. She dedicated her life to children, Carolyn retired from the Odessa R-7 School District as the Child Care Center Director. She also had an in-home pre-school for a short time. Carolyn was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Odessa, MO. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Carolyn enjoyed traveling with Jerry and her girl trips, shopping and she had a passion for photography. 

Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Jerry C. Johnson, of Odessa, MO; two children, Jason C. Johnson and wife Kim of Odessa, MO and Lori Jiron and husband Levi of Odessa, MO; six grandchildren, Tyler Johnson, Kirbie Williams, Lacey Ryan, Ryder Jiron, Kristen Johnson, and Cooper Jiron; five great-grandchildren, Asher Williams, Emma Johnson, Grace Ryan, Demi Williams, and Theo Johnson; one sister, Sue Mulkey and husband Paul of Odessa, MO; two brothers, Randy Barker of Odessa, MO and Darren Barker and wife Vickie of Lee’s Summit, MO; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents.
