Carol Mae Taggart, 82 of Oak Grove, Missouri passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at home surrounded by family.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at the Odessa Cemetery in Odessa, MO. Per the family’s request, please wear a face mask and if you cannot stand for an extended period please bring a chair. Memorials are suggested to the Odessa First Baptist Church. Carol was born on August 3, 1938 in Odessa, MO to Ray E. and Zilla Mae (Gibson) Porter. She graduated from Odessa High School in 1956. On June 3, 1956 she married Elton G. Taggart in Robbins, MO. Carol worked as a Nurses Recruiter for General Hospital, Dickinson Jr. College, and Research College of Nursing. She retired as the Owner and Agent of Taggart Insurance Agency in Oak Grove, MO after 15 years of service. Carol was a member of the First Baptist Church in Odessa and many organizations related to her career. In addition to spending time with her family and friends, she enjoyed studying the Bible.
Survivors include her husband, Elton Taggart of Oak Grove, MO; a son Steven Taggart and wife Sharon of Odessa, a daughter, Tresa Overfield and husband Max of Blue Springs, MO; six grandchildren, Clint Taggart and wife Alesha, Joshua Taggart and wife Mary, Caleb Taggart and wife Sammie, Alyssa Overfield, Crystal Kusick and husband Jason and John Stewart and wife Stephanie; nine great-grandchildren, Eli Taggart, Nathan Taggart, Brayden Taggart, Brynley Taggart, Ava Kusick, Isaac Kusick, Sophia Kusick, Hunter Stewart and Abby Stewart; and a sister, Virginia Robbins and husband Max of Grain Valley, MO.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents.
