Carl Hubert West, 87, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Monday, February 15, 2016 at the Golden Living Center-Newhaven in Odessa, MO.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 18, 2016 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524 with Reverend Terry Hodges Officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Greenton Cemetery. Hubert was born on June 8, 1928 in Mayview, MO to Paul L. and Sallie C. (Roberts) West. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1947. On January 11, 1951 he was drafted to the United States Army and fought in the Korean War. Hubert earned the Korean Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal. He was honorably discharged on December 19, 1952. April 17, 1953 he married Minnie M. (Gover) West in Mayview, MO, who survives of the home. Hubert was a farmer. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife Minnie, Hubert is survived by a daughter, Sheri L. Bayless of Odessa, MO and a granddaughter, Jessica Bayless of Odessa, MO.
In addition to his parents, Hubert was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda G. West; a brother, Russell West and a sister, Edna Lines.
