Calvin Lee Maun, 63, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Sunday October 18, 2015 at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, MO.

A graveside Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday October 23, 2015, at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, 20109 Bus. Hwy. 13, Higginsville, MO 64037, with Pastor Jason Thornton officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Odessa Library Building Fund. Calvin was born on April 11, 1952 in Manhattan, Kansas to Paul Graham & Norma Jean (Westmoreland) Maun. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1970 and then from Central Missouri State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. He served in the United States Navy from September 29, 1970 until September 27, 1974. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. Calvin worked at Wal-Mart for many years before retiring as an Assistant Manager. In addition to spending time with his family and friends, Calvin loved reading, history, philosophy, and military collectibles.

In addition to his mother Norma, Calvin is survived by three children, Jacob Maun and wife Amanda of Blue Springs, MO, Elizabeth (Izzy) Lahman and husband Steven of Lakeworth, Florida and Paul Maun of Bates City, MO; three grandchildren, Jackson, Cooper and Mackinley; one brother, Dale Maun of Odessa, MO; two nephews, Justin Maun of Shawnee, KS and Jerad Maun of Odessa, MO.

In addition to his father, Calvin was preceded in death by a son, Jason Maun.
