Bobby Gene Peoples, Sr., 70, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Monday February 16, 2015 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday February 22, 2015 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday February 22, 2015 at the funeral home. Memorial are suggested to the American Cancer Society. Condolence for the family may be left at

Bobby was born on June 29, 1944 in Versailles, MO to George (Joker) Peoples and Lena Mae (Wilson) Peoples. Bobby married Virginia (Wood) Peoples in 1962. They later divorced and he then was united in marriage to Cathy Ann (Rains) Peoples in Lee’s Summit, MO. They later divorced but continued a great friendship. He retired from the GM Leed’s Plant and later owned and operated the Log Cabin Liquors in Odessa, MO until its closing. Bobby was a member of the UAW Local 31. In addition to spending time with his family and friends, he had a passion for music, loved the outdoors, farming, working on cars and living off the land.
Bobby Sr., is survived by five children, Bobby Gene Peoples, Jr. of Kansas City, MO, Rhonda Lucille Peoples of Kansas City, MO, Deanna Faye Peoples-Amador and husband Edward Amador Jr., of Odessa, MO, Charlene Ann Peoples and husband Chris Murphy of Independence, MO and Nicole Schmidt and husband Greg; a son in law, Dennis Duffy Jr. of Independence, MO; Twelve grandchildren, Garry Brunner, Breez Duffy, Jeremy Elias, Dusty Peoples, Bobby Gene Peoples III, Evan Amador, Alex Amador, Violet Murphy, Taylor, Chase, Tanner and Nicholas Schmidt; five great grandchildren; one brother, Frank Peoples and wife Anne of Cole Camp, MO and a great aunt, Betty Johnson of Independence, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bobby Sr., was preceded in death by two children, Tammy Duffy and Lloyd (Chip) Curtis Peoples; and a sister, Linda Ann Thompson.
