Billy “Bill” Howard Beard, 69 of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017 at home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Odessa Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Odessa R-7 Public Foundation for sports activities, Kansas City Victory Outreach or Lee’s Summit Village Hospice. Bill was born on December 25, 1948 in Odessa, Missouri to William R. and Betty Jean (Adams) Beard. He graduated in 1966 from Odessa High School. On August 23, 1968 he married Jane Delores (Clemons) Beard in Odessa. She preceded him in death on September 24, 2011. Bill was a member of the St. George Catholic Church in Odessa. For 29 years Bill worked for Travomatic Corp. in Grain Valley, MO as a Plant Manager and Engineering Manager. For the past 22 years, Bill has been employed as a Regional Operations Manager for the Kansas City Division of CKS Packaging in Atlanta, Georgia. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to the lake, camping and was an avid Bulldog sport’s fan.
Survivors include two children, Billy Beard of Odessa, MO and Jim Beard and wife Holly of Odessa, MO; four grandchildren, Morgan, Sarah, Aubrey and Ryann Beard all of Odessa, MO; a sister, Tawahna Davis-Hoffman of Odessa, MO.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, William R. Beard, his mother, Betty Jean (Adams) Davis and his wife, Jane Delores Beard.
