Betty Lou Morris

Betty Lou Morris, 79, of Lexington, MO passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. Betty Lou Young was born October 23, 1931 in Lawrence, KS, to James D. and Josephine L. Ballinger Young. She married John Morris May 29, 1953 in Marshall, MO. Mrs. Morris was retired from the Department of Commerce where she was a contract officer. She was a member of Lexington First Baptist Church, the Womens Circle, the Homes of Sorrow, and was a member of the choir. Mrs. Morris is survived by her husband, John, of the home; sons, William Morris (Diana), of Lexington and Dan Morris (Teri) of Independence, MO. An aunt, Ruby Young, Centerview, Maryland and a sister-in-law Dorothy Young Roberts, Salem, MO. There are 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, JoAnne McConnell. Services will be 2 p.m., Sunday, September 25, 2011 at the Lexington First Baptist Church. Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lexington. Visitation one hour prior to services at the church. Memorials may be made to Lexington First Baptist Church.
