Betty Jane Mussatto

Betty Hulon Mussatto was born Betty Jane Barron on December 9, 1922 in Lexington, MO. She was the middle of three daughters born to Ella and Edward Barron. After graduation from Lexington High School in 1940, Betty began her career as secretary to the president of Dunhill shirt factory in Lexington. In 1946 she moved to California. She married Hank Hulon in August of 1947. They had one daughter, Suzanne, in 1950. In 1951, the family returned to Missouri, but by 1958 California called them back. Betty enjoyed a career as personnel manager for J.C. Penney and then, in 1964, she joined the Walt Disney Music Company. She rose to supervisor of International Production by the time of her retirement in June of 1984, 20 years to the day since she began with Disney. Having been widowed in 1982, she reconnected with her old beau, Joseph Mussatto. They were married May 11, 1985 and Betty returned to Lexington for good. While she enjoyed her varied career, Betty always believed that the love of family is the most important thing. She is survived by her devoted husband, Joe. Her daughter, Suzanne and her husband Don Henderson, her granddaughter, Sarah and her husband, Timothy Northrip and her beloved great grandson, Alexander, all of Los Angeles. Her sister, Ethel (Billie) Barron of Lexington and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Dorothy Landrum. Betty was a member of the First Christian Church of Lexington. She belonged to the Lexington Garden Club, the Lexington Historical Society, American Legion Auxiliary Post and the Mayflower Society. Betty always loved to dance and won a jitterbug contest at age 87. Memorial services were held Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, Lexington, MO.
