Betty Lou (Stricklen) Hobbs-Hayward, 83 of Raytown, Missouri, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2016, at the Wilshire of Lakewood Care Center in Lee’s Summit, MO.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Greenton Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Blue Springs YMCA, 1300 S.E. Betty was born on July 25, 1933 to Noble and Ola (Bird) Stricklen in Tina, MO. She graduated from Central High School, Kansas City, MO. She married Bobbie Hobbs on September 10, 1951 in Seattle, WA. He preceded her in death on June 20, 1988. Betty later married Eugene Hayward in 1996 and he preceded her in death in 2009. She was a member of the Highpoint Baptist Church in Raytown, MO. In addition to spending time with her family, Betty enjoyed sewing and quilting, bowling, playing cards, and being part of the YMCA.
Betty is survived by her daughter Nancy Candioto and husband Joe of Grain Valley, MO, her son Rick Hobbs of Raytown, MO; three grandchildren, Holly Krska and husband Nathanael of Independence, MO, Joey Candioto and wife Amanda of Independence, MO, and Anthony Candioto of Chandler, Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Betty was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Hobbs; and three sisters, Ellouise McPeek, Alma Lee King, and Pauline Hockett.
