Betty Nadine Filler Coupland, age 85 of Odessa, Mo., passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2014. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at the Church of Christ in Odessa, Mo. Visitation will be Sunday, December 14, 2014 at 12:30 at the Church of Christ. Burial will be at Odessa Cemetery, with Pastor Jason Hawkins officiating. Betty was born Sept. 13, 1929 in rural Odessa, and has lived there most of her life.
Her parents were David E. Filler and Ethel Grace Rankin Filler. She graduated from Odessa High School in 1947.
She married Gerald Allen Coupland on Sept. 12, 1952 in Odessa. They were married for 62 years.
She worked for Sears and Roebuck for 25 years in Kansas City, Mo. In 1991, she retired from Odessa Senior Citizens Center.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, mother and father in-law, a brother-in-law, a nephew, and a niece.
She is survived by her husband of the home, two daughters, Audrey Ann Coupland of Independence, Mo., and Brenda Sue Madsen (Brian) and two grandsons Brady and Brendan Madsen of Odessa, Mo., two sisters, Davijean Barker and Dixie Lee Scott of Odessa, Mo. Also, nephews and nieces, and a sister-in-law, Delores Lockhart (Duane) of Odessa, Mo.
Betty was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
