Bette Jane (Crouse) Massey, 75 of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Monday, November 25, 2024, at St. Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit, MO.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Calvary Baptist Church. Bette was born on June 6, 1949, in Denver, Colorado to Theodore Morris and Carrie Beth (Montgomery) Crouse. She graduated from Hinkley High School in Aurora, CO. Bette retired from Yellow Freight as an office clerk for data entry. On April 30, 2004, Bette was united in marriage to Stanley Massey in Odessa, MO. She is a member of Calvary Baptist Church. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Bette enjoyed bowling, playing solitaire, her granddog Millie, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren. 

 

Bette is survived by her husband of 20 years, Stanley Massey of Odessa, MO; six children, Cale (Carleene) Bennett of Aurora, CO, Cody Bennett of Overland Park, KS, Mark (Stacia) Massey of Ozark, MO, Sherry (David) Hockman of Columbia, MO, Susan (Stanley) Parker of Cyprus, TX, and Jim (Emily) Massey of Chevy Chase, Maryland; fourteen grandchildren, Kayla (Mike) Leonetti, Keifer Bennett, Connor (Hannah) Massey, Miranda (Jordan) Eickmeyer, Michaela (Riley) Williams, Spencer (Emily) Hockman, Alex (Madison) Hockman, Paige (Josh) Mabrey, Bret (Ryland) Parker, Derek (Jacqueline) Parker, Taylor Parker, Gabe Parker, Sawyer Massey, and Lawson Massey; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Judy (Larry) Pearson of Byers, CO, Jacque (Jeff) Strode of Aurora, CO, Jodi (Alan) Troop of Independence, MO; one brother, Phil (Judy) Nelson of Aurora, CO; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. 

 

In addition to her parents, Bette was preceded in death by a sister, Jeri Newman.
