Bette Lou Barker Maib, 89, of Lexington, MO, passed away on February 23, 2015 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Bette was born on March 10, 1925 in Marceline, MO to Jewell and Willis Barker. She was the oldest of eight siblings. She is survived by her loving husband, Clarence Kenneth Maib, one son, Robert Kenneth Maib and his wife, Gayle, two grandsons, Joshua Robert Maib and Jared Ashton Maib and his wife, Natalie; 2 great-grandsons, Montgomery Ashton Maib and Jack Robert Maib. She is also survived by her siblings: Barbara Ellis and husband, Danny, Barry Barker, Benny Barker and wife, Pat, Berniece Hanes and husband, Jim, Brenda Ruark and husband, Allen, and many nieces and nephews. Bette was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Bobby. A sister Beverly, and nieces, Barbie Ann and Cheryl. Bette was actively involved in several community activities in her hometown of Lexington. Among those were the Daughters of the American Revolution, Beta Sigma Phi, Lexington Garden Club, Altar Society, and the Historical Society of Lexington. Bette was a Charter Board member of the Sr. Citizens Community Development Center on S. Highway 13 and a Charter member of the Friends of Missouri Town in Jackson County, MO. Bette was dearly loved by friends and family alike. She will be missed by all. Love ya, Love ya, Love ya Mom, Momo, and Great-Grandma. Services will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lexington. Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lexington.
