Bertha Clara Dieckmann, 92, of Napoleon, MO passed away Friday, July 29, 2011 at St. Marys Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO. Bertha Clara Beckmann was born January 14, 1919, the daughter of Fritz and Julia Niendick Beckmann. She married Theodor (Ted) Henry Edward Dieckmann on June 6, 1940 in Napoleon. Mrs. Dieckmann was born and resided at the family farm for 88 years before moving to Meyer Care Center in Higginsville. She was a homemaker and worked as bookkeeper at the Levasy Grain Elevator owned by Ted and Arnold Dieckmann. She was a member of St. Paul Church in Napoleon, a Sunday School Teacher and active in the Womens Fellowship and Quilting Group. She was a 4H Project Leader and an AARP member. She is survived by three children and a son-in-law: Kenneth Dieckmann and wife, Esther, Napoleon, Leona Oberhelman and husband, Larry, Wellington, Curtis Dieckmann and wife, Ardith, Sibley, and James Betka, New London, NC. There are 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, her daughter Ina Betka,, an infant son, a grandson Randee Rodenberg, a great-grandson Collin Dieckmann, her brother Erwin, four sisters, Ethel Dieckmann, Esther Beckemeyer, Lillian Lohsandt, and Leona Dieckmann. Services will be on Tuesday, August 2, 2011, 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Church in Napoleon with burial in the Church Cemetery. Visitation is Monday evening, August 1, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the church. The family suggests memorials to St. Paul Church Cemetery Fund.
