Barbara Jean (Pinkston) Cox, 71 of Independence, Missouri passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at her home.

Barbara was born on October 14, 1952, in Kansas City, MO to Leroy and Elizabeth Esther (Dickman) Pinkston. She attended Truman High School in Independence, MO. Barbara was united in marriage to James Cox in Independence, MO. He preceded her in death on August 27th, 2017. Barbara worked for Hereford House for 20 plus years in event catering. Most recently Barbara was working for the DAV in Kansas City. She was a member of Englewood Church and was active in Sunday School and assisting in the children’s nursery. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Barbara enjoyed shopping and playing the lottery.
Barbara is survived by three children, Tommy (Amy) Andrade of Lee’s Summit, MO; Joey Dennis of Independence, MO, and Gary Dennis of Gardner, KS; nine grandchildren, Avery Andrade, Nika Onka, Anastasia Bourey, Maddison Liggett-Dennis, Landon Dimitras, McKinley Dimitras, Stella Dimitras, Kiera (Mason) Queen, and Chase Dennis; six great-grandchildren, Charlie Queen, Colin Queen, Chance Onka, Abel Onka, Scarlett Bourey and Leah Bourey. One sister, Linda Regenbrecht of Odessa, MO; and many relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Andrade; and a brother-in-law, Walter Regenbrecht.
