ANDREW MICHAEL KOHLY
Andrew Michael Kohly, age 54, passed away peacefully at his home in Cowgill on March 24, 2016. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the Spotted Pig in Lexington, MO. Private inurnment will be at the Veteran's Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. Family requests donations be made for an education fund for Christopher Kohly.
Andy was born on January 19, 1962 to Robert and Diana Kohly Morrison, in Phoenix, Arizona. In 1972 Diana married John Morrison and Andy moved to Lexington, MO. John Morrison fostered Andy's interest in fishing and laid the foundation for Andy's love of the outdoors and his fishing and hunting hobbies. Andy graduated from Lexington, Missouri and went on to obtain his Bachelor's of Science from University of Central Missouri and his Masters from University of Phoenix. Andy married Shirley Brock on June 14, 2007 in Mesa, AZ. Andy served in the United States Army in the capacity of a Blackhawk Crew Chief from 1986 - 1993. After the military, he continued his career in the aviation industry, most recently working as the Training and TechPubs Manager at Jet Midwest Technik, in Kansas City, MO.
He is survived by his wife Shirley Brock Kohly (Cowgill), daughters Ashley Phelps (William) and Audrey Snow (Nick) and son Christopher Kohly of Phoenix, AZ, step-daughter Taylor Snyder (Jason) of Richmond, MO, brother Matthew Kohly (Sherri) of Columbia, MO, step-brother William "Bill" Morrison of Buckner, step-sister Pat Morrison Lewis of Florida, and step-sister Carol Morrison of Olathe, KS. Grandchildren Brendan, Alessandra (Beth), Jamie, James and Daniella Phelps of Phoenix, AZ, Lillian, Airelle, and Truman Snyder of Richmond, MO.
Andy was preceded in death by his son Seth Kohly and his parents John and Diana Morrison.
