Alvin Lee Markley, 80 of Dover, Missouri passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at home surrounded by family.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 16, 2020 at the Dover Cemetery in Dover, MO. Following the graveside, everyone is invited to a Celebration of Life at the Dover Community Building.

Alvin was born on July 11, 1940 in Dover, Missouri to Alvin James and Cora (Vicory) Markley. He graduated from Lexington High School in 1958. Alvin retired from the General Motors Leeds Plant in Kansas City, MO after 30 years of service. On July 6, 1973 he married Charlotte LaRue (Bloss) Markley in Lexington, MO. After retiring from GM Alvin started working for the Dover Road District. Alvin was a member of the Dover Christian Church, a member of the Lexington Moose Lodge and Elks Lodge, Hog House Band and the UAW Local 93. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Alvin enjoyed hunting, fishing, guitar and fiddle playing.
Alvin is survived by his wife, Charlotte Markley of Dover, MO; five children, Melissa Scott and husband Dave of Lexington, MO, Brian Short and wife Amy of Prairie Village, KS, Jacque Wiskur and husband Jim of Holden, MO, Steve Markley of Marshall, MO, and Becky Markley of Holden, MO; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Jerry Markley and wife Linda of Lexington, MO; one sister, Gail Wilson and husband Bucky of Lexington, MO; in-laws, Ginger Reis and husband Ed of Marshall, MO; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Alvin was preceded in death by a daughter, Angie Markley; a daughter-in-law, Rose Markley, and brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Francis Markley.
