Alvera Johnson, 80, of Lexington, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at home.
Visitation will be held at the Trinity United Church of Christ, 1312 Franklin Avenue, Lexington, MO 64067, on Friday, July 12, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will begin directly after at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Machpelah Cemetery in Lexington, MO. Alvera was born in Higginsville, MO on July 14, 1938 to Erwin and Ester (Meinershagen) Dothage. After graduating from Lexington High School in 1956, she united in marriage to Robert “Bobby” Lee Johnson on February 9, 1958. Alvera worked for Kerr Orchard the Lafayette County Auditor’s office, located in the courthouse. She was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ, Women’s Circle, Sounds of the Heart Board and the Welcoming & Hospitality Committee. In addition to spending time with friends and family, Alvera enjoyed sewing.
Alvera is survived by two sons, Allen Johnson and Larry Johnson and wife Pam, both of Lexington, MO; one daughter, Susan Johnson of Lexington, MO; two sisters, Luetta Soendker of Marshall, MO, and Ethel Ruehter of Higginsville, MO; two brothers, Delmar Dothage and wife Sharon of Lexington, MO, and Clarence Dothage and wife Janice of Lexington, MO; seven grandchildren, Keith Beckman and wife Brooke of Higginsville, MO, Elizabeth Arnold and husband Kyle of Grand Pass, MO, Andrea Gamm and husband Daniel of Parkville, Maria Johnson of Kansas, Derrick Johnson and wife Jessi of Lexington, MO, Spencer Stephenson and husband Garrett of Lee’s Summit, MO, and Blake Johnson of Lexington, MO; ten great-grandchildren, Gentry, Henley, and Judson Beckman, Keairah, Parker, Jaelah and Mariah Arnold, Cruz and Kenzie Johnson, and Colter Stephenson and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Alvera was preceded in death by her husband; one brother, Ralph Dothage; one grandson, Clint Johnson; and one great-granddaughter, Gracie Arnold.
