Alice Maydean (Skidmore) Murphy, 89, of Blue Springs, Missouri passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at her home.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd Street, Odessa, MO 64076, 816-633-5524. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Greenton Cemetery, 9345 Greenton Rd, Odessa, MO 64076. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Greenton Cemetery Association. Alice was born on July 10, 1931 in Licking, MO to Clifford and Agnes Skidmore. On May 28, 1949 she was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Murphy in Smithville, MO. He preceded her in death. Alice worked for Actions Products in Odessa, MO on the assembly line for over 30 years. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Blue Springs, MO. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Alice was an avid gardener, enjoyed quilting, and attending concerts at the Big Creek Country Show in Pleasant Hill, MO.
Survivors include one son, Rick Murphy of Blue Springs, MO; three daughters, Yvonne Gray and companion Randy of Salem, MO, Renee Pearson and husband Bob of Blue Springs, MO, and Glenda Campbell of Columbia, MO; one brother Frederick Blankenship and wife May of Licking, MO; five grandchildren, Darrick Gray and wife Wednesday, Danielle Hudson and husband Sam, Allyson Chick and husband Jason, Stephen Campbell and wife Megan, and Andy Pearson and wife Jenny; eight great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Alice was preceded in death by one sister, Marie Murphy; and three brothers, Frankie Skidmore, Chet Skidmore and Manuel Blankenship.
